GV-14 - Great Hammer
大椎 - Dà zhuī
Point Region: Back
GV-14, or 'Dazhui' (meaning 'Great Vertebra'), is one of the most important and versatile points in the entire acupressure system. Located at the base of the neck, its name refers to its position as a 'great vertebra' that serves as a meeting point for all the 'Yang' channels of the body.
As a master point, Dazhui is a go-to point for a wide range of conditions, from a cold and fever to a stiff neck and back pain. It is a vital point for 'clearing heat' and 'regulating' the flow of energy in the entire body. By stimulating this point, you can help to restore a sense of balance and harmony to the entire body.
Dazhui acts as a vital access point to the core of the body, providing a direct and effective way to address blockages and restore a sense of comfort and vitality to the upper body. It's a reminder of the power of local points to provide targeted relief and restore a sense of comfort and vitality to the entire body.
