BL-12 - Wind Gate
风门 - Fēng mén
Point Region: Back
BL-12 Fengmen, translating to 'Wind Gate,' is the body's primary fortress against external invaders like colds and flu. Positioned at the upper back, it is the gate through which wind, cold, and other pathogens can enter the body. Activating this point helps to close the gate, strengthening the body's defenses and preventing illness.
Like a vigilant guard at the entrance to a city, Fengmen's main job is to expel 'wind-cold' and 'wind-heat' from the body. It’s the first point to consider when you feel the onset of a cold, characterized by symptoms like a stuffy nose, sneezing, a sore throat, or chills.
By acting as a barrier to external pathogens, BL-12 helps fortify the immune system and regulate body temperature, making it a crucial point for prevention and early-stage treatment of seasonal illnesses. It’s a point that teaches us the importance of protecting our boundaries, both physical and energetic.
