About This Guide

Acupressure Guide is a free reference to acupressure as Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) describes it: where each point is, how to find it, and what it is traditionally used for. It has no ads, no sponsors, no referrals, no sign-up, and no tracking cookies or analytics.

How pages are written

These rules were adopted in October 2026. Pages are being reworked to meet them one by one; a page lists its sources at the foot once it has been.

  • Tradition and research are kept apart. What TCM says about a point is labelled as traditional use. What research says is stated separately, with its source, or not at all.
  • No promises. The guide does not say acupressure cures, treats or prevents anything.
  • Every factual claim has a source, listed at the foot of the page and on the sources page. Each source has been opened and the claim checked against it. A claim that cannot be sourced is removed, not kept.
  • Emergencies get one instruction: call your local emergency number. See when not to self-treat.
  • Safety notes are specific. Cautions such as pregnancy are shown on the points that carry them.

Who writes it

The guide is written and maintained by Michael An in New York. It grew out of his own experience with acupuncture and acupressure, and his work as a co-founder of Yi Acu Clinic, an acupuncture clinic in Boston. The guide is a separate, personal project, with no ads and no referrals.
