LU-9 - Great Abyss
太渊 - Tài yuān
Point Region: Arm
LU-9 Taiyuan, meaning 'Great Abyss,' represents the Lung meridian's most profound and influential point—the place where the body's relationship with breath, rhythm, and the endless cycle of receiving and releasing reaches its deepest expression. Located at the wrist where the pulse reveals the heart's ancient drumbeat, this point serves as the master conductor orchestrating the symphony of circulation throughout the entire body.
As the Lung's Source point and one of the most important points for checking the body's overall vitality, Taiyuan embodies the Lung's essential wisdom: that life is a constant exchange between self and environment, between holding and letting go, between drawing in what we need and releasing what no longer serves. This point teaches us that true strength lies not in holding our breath but in breathing fully and freely.
In the realm of emotional healing, LU-9 offers profound support for those struggling with grief, loss, or the inability to 'breathe easy' in life. It helps restore our natural capacity for taking in the good while releasing the burdens we've been carrying, creating space for new experiences and deeper vitality to emerge.
