Understanding Constipation
A condition marked by infrequent, difficult, or incomplete bowel movements, often due to slow transit, dehydration, or dietary imbalance.
Constipation occurs when bowel movements become less frequent or difficult to pass, often leaving a feeling of heaviness. Causes may include diet, dehydration, stress, or medical conditions. Acupressure may encourage bowel motility, relieve abdominal discomfort, and help restore digestive balance.

Constipation Relief Protocol (Daily practice, 10 minutes)
Treatment Protocol
- Practice daily, ideally in the morning to encourage natural bowel movements
- Begin with deep abdominal breathing: place hands on belly, breathe so hands rise and fall
- Massage ST-25 (2 finger-widths beside navel) in firm clockwise circles for 2 minutes
- Press SP-15 (side of abdomen at navel level) firmly for 1 minute each side
- Apply pressure to TE-6 (back of forearm, 3 finger-widths from wrist) for 1 minute each arm to stimulate bowel movement
- For additional support: include BL-25 (lower back, if someone can help) and LI-11 (outer elbow)
- Add CV-12 (upper abdomen) with gentle circular massage to harmonize digestion
- Combine with adequate water intake and fiber in diet for best results
Supporting Your Recovery
Lifestyle
- Fiber Intake: Include fruits, vegetables, and whole grains to support regularity
- Movement Matters: Gentle walking or yoga can stimulate bowel motility
Important
- Hydration: Water softens stool and supports elimination
- Medical Oversight: Chronic constipation may require evaluation for obstruction or motility disorders
