Location & How to Find

Anatomical Location: On the anterior midline of the chest, at the level of the fourth intercostal space, midway between the nipples.

How to Locate:

  1. Find the center of your chest between your nipples
  2. Locate your breastbone running down the middle of your chest
  3. The point is on the breastbone exactly between your nipples
  4. This is typically at the level of your fourth rib

CV-17 Protocols

Emotional Calm & Chest Opener (4 minutes)

  1. Sit upright with shoulders relaxed
  2. Locate CV-17 (center of the sternum, level with the 4th intercostal space)
  3. Use fingertips to gently press and hold for 30 seconds
  4. Massage in circular motions for 1 minute to open the chest and ease anxiety
  5. Repeat pressure while breathing deeply and slowly
