Location & How to Find

Anatomical Location: 3 cun lateral to the lower border of the spinous process of T12 (twelfth thoracic vertebra), level with BL-21.

How to Locate:

  1. Find the level of the first lower back vertebra (just below your ribcage)
  2. Place your finger about three finger-widths to the side of your spine
  3. Press into the muscle to find a tender spot - this is BL-51
