Understanding Lower Back Pain
Pain in the lumbar region due to muscle strain, disc issues, arthritis, or nerve compression—often exacerbated by posture or movement.
Lower back pain is one of the leading causes of disability worldwide. It may result from muscle strain, spinal disc issues, or nerve compression. Lifestyle factors like posture and stress also play a role. Acupressure can complement treatment by reducing tension, improving flexibility, and easing stress-related pain.

Lower Back Pain Relief (10-15 minutes)
Treatment Protocol
- Lie flat on firm surface or sit with good back support
- Have someone massage BL-23 (lower back, level with bottom of ribcage, 2 fingers from spine) for 2 minutes each side
- Apply pressure to BL-25 (lower back, level with hip bones, 2 fingers from spine) for 1 minute each side
- Press GV-3 (lower spine, level with hip bones, center) gently for 1 minute
- For radiating pain: add BL-40 (back of knee crease) or KI-3 (inner ankle) for kidney support
Supporting Your Recovery
Lifestyle
- Ergonomic Setup: Adjust chair and desk height to support spinal alignment
- Core Strength: Gentle core exercises can stabilize and protect the lower back
Important
- Avoid Heavy Lifting: Use proper technique or assistance to prevent strain
- Medical Evaluation: Persistent or radiating pain may signal disc or nerve issues
