Location & How to Find

Anatomical Location: 2.5 cun directly above the posterior hairline and 1.3 cun lateral to the midline, in the depression on the lateral aspect of the superior nuchal line.

How to Locate:

  1. Tilt your head forward and feel the base of your skull at the back
  2. Find the depression just above where your neck muscles attach to your skull
  3. Move slightly off center (about one finger-width) to find BL-9
