BL-57 - Support the Mountain
承山 - Chéng shān
Point Region: Shin
BL-57 Chengshan, meaning 'Support the Mountain,' is one of the most famous points for relieving leg tension and a master point for hemorrhoids. Located in the belly of the calf muscle, it's the 'mountain' that supports the body's weight and the 'support' that helps to ease the pain and pressure in the lower body. This point is a powerhouse for releasing deep-seated tension.
Think of Chengshan as a point that helps you to feel as light as a feather. It's invaluable for addressing issues like calf cramps, leg fatigue, and sciatica. It's also a go-to point for hemorrhoids, as it helps to clear the stagnation and heat that can cause them. By releasing the tension in the calf, it helps to restore a sense of ease and freedom to the entire leg.
By supporting the 'mountain' of the leg, BL-57 helps to restore a sense of lightness and vitality. It's a point that reminds us that our ability to move freely is rooted in a strong and unburdened body.
