Anatomical Location: 5 cun below BL-40, on the line connecting BL-40 and BL-57, in the center of the belly of the gastrocnemius muscle.

How to Locate:

  1. Locate the center of your calf muscle, about halfway down your lower leg
  2. Find the thickest part of your calf muscle belly
  3. Press into the muscle to find a tender spot - this is BL-56
