BL-19 - Gall Bladder Shu
胆俞 - Dǎn shū
Point Region: Back
BL-19 Danshu, the Back-Shu point of the Gallbladder, is a point of courage and decision-making. The Gallbladder, in Chinese medicine, is the 'official of justice,' responsible for our ability to make decisions and act with determination. This point helps to clear dampness and heat, which can cloud our judgment and lead to indecisiveness.
As the point of courage, Danshu helps us to feel more confident and decisive in our lives. It's particularly useful for those who feel timid, hesitant, or indecisive, as well as for physical symptoms like digestive upset, bitter taste in the mouth, and headaches that are related to Gallbladder disharmony.
By clearing the path and strengthening our resolve, BL-19 helps us to move forward with clarity and purpose. It's a point that reminds us that true courage comes not from the absence of fear, but from the ability to act despite it.
