BL-18 - Liver Shu
肝俞 - Gān shū
Point Region: Back
BL-18 Ganshu, the Back-Shu point of the Liver, is the point of smooth, harmonious flow. The Liver, in Chinese medicine, is responsible for the smooth flow of Qi and Blood throughout the body and is deeply connected to emotions like anger and frustration. This point serves as a powerful release valve for a constricted liver.
Think of Ganshu as a gentle hand that helps to untangle the knots of stress and tension. It's a go-to point for anger, irritability, and frustration, as well as physical symptoms like headaches, dizziness, and menstrual cramps that are caused by stagnant liver qi.
By nourishing the Liver and promoting the smooth flow of energy, BL-18 helps to restore a sense of calm and emotional balance. It's a point that reminds us of the importance of living with ease and grace, rather than with a constant sense of struggle or resistance.
