GV-9 - Extremity of Yang
至阳 - Zhì yáng
Point Region: Back
GV-9, or 'Zhiyang' (meaning 'Reaching Yang'), is a local point located on the spine. Its name refers to its position as the highest point of 'Yang' energy in the body, where it can address issues related to the entire body.
As a local point, Zhiyang is primarily used for issues related to the spine and the nervous system, such as a stiff neck, back pain, and a sense of 'stuckness' in the spine. It is a go-to point for 'clearing' heat from the spine and 'calming' the nervous system. By stimulating this point, you can help to restore a sense of balance and harmony to the entire body.
Zhiyang acts as a vital access point to the core of the body, providing a direct and effective way to address blockages and restore a sense of comfort and vitality to the lower body.
