CV-5 - Stone Gate
石门 - Shí mén
Point Region: Lower abdomen
CV-5 Shimen, or 'Stone Gate,' is the 'Front-Mu' point of the Triple Burner, a master regulator of water passages and a point for clearing stagnation. Its name alludes to its ability to create a 'stone gate' that prevents the body's energy from flowing freely. This point helps to regulate the flow of fluids and restore a sense of lightness and ease.
Think of Shimen as a point that helps to open the floodgates, clearing out the excess water and dampness that can accumulate in the body. It's especially useful for addressing issues like edema, urinary retention, and a feeling of heaviness or fullness in the abdomen. By regulating the Triple Burner, it helps to restore a sense of balance and clarity.
By regulating water passages and clearing stagnation, CV-5 helps to restore a sense of lightness and ease. It's a point that reminds us that our ability to live fully is rooted in a well-hydrated and unburdened body.
