BL-31 - Upper Crevice
上髎 - Shàng liáo
Point Region: Lower back
BL-31 Shangliao, meaning 'Upper Crevice,' is the first of four powerful points in the sacral region that govern the lower body. Situated in the upper sacral foramen, it acts as a gateway to the pelvic organs, making it a master point for regulating the lower burner and benefiting the reproductive system.
Think of Shangliao as a point that brings warmth and circulation to the body's foundation. It's especially useful for addressing issues like menstrual irregularities, low back pain, and sciatic nerve discomfort. It's also a key point for a wide range of gynecological and urological concerns, including difficult urination and infertility.
By activating this 'Upper Crevice,' we can restore a sense of flow and vitality to the lower body, releasing stagnation and promoting overall well-being. It's a point that reminds us that a healthy life is rooted in a healthy core.
