LI-8 - Lower Ridge
下廉 - Xià lián
Point Region: Forearm
LI-8, or 'Xialian' (meaning 'Lower Angle'), is a local point located on the forearm. Its name refers to its location at the 'lower angle' of the forearm, just above the elbow crease.
While it may not have a special classification like some other points, Xialian is an important local point for addressing conditions of the forearm and hand. It is often used for wrist drop, hand numbness, and issues with the elbow. It's also used to harmonize the Large Intestine organ itself, helping with digestive issues and eliminating waste from the body.
This point is part of a cluster of powerful points on the forearm that are key for maintaining mobility and function in the arm. Its straightforward application makes it a reliable choice for anyone dealing with day-to-day tension or pain in the lower arm.
