LI-17 - Celestial Tripod
天鼎 - Tiān dǐng
Point Region: Neck
LI-17, or 'Tianding' (meaning 'Heaven's Tripod'), is a local point located on the side of the neck. Its name refers to its position near the throat, which is considered a 'tripod' that supports the head and connects to the 'heavens' above.
This point is primarily used for disorders of the throat and voice. It's an excellent point for a wide range of conditions, from a 'sore throat' and 'swelling' to a loss of voice or difficulty speaking. It is also used to help clear phlegm and promote a smooth, clear voice. By stimulating this point, you can help to relieve tension and inflammation in the neck, allowing for a clearer, more open passage.
Tianding serves as a crucial point for anyone dealing with throat or voice issues, providing a direct and effective way to address blockages and promote a healthy flow of energy in the neck and head. It's a reminder of the powerful connection between the body's channels and our ability to communicate and express ourselves.
