KI-5 - Water Spring
水泉 - Shuǐ quán
Point Region: Foot
KI-5, or 'Shuiquan' (meaning 'Water Spring'), is the 'Xi-Cleft' point of the Kidney channel. Located just below the inner ankle, its name refers to its function as a 'spring' of water that can be tapped into to address acute conditions along the meridian.
As a 'Xi-Cleft' point, Shuiquan is a go-to point for managing acute pain and blood stagnation along the channel. It is particularly effective for menstrual pain, irregular menstruation, and other gynecological issues. Think of it as a 'water spring' that can quickly unblock and restore the flow of energy and blood, much like a dam being opened to release a rush of water.
This point is a quick-acting rescue point for issues related to the Kidney's role in the reproductive and urinary systems. By stimulating this point, you can help to resolve acute symptoms and restore a sense of balance and ease. This makes it an indispensable tool for anyone dealing with sudden or intense pain related to the Kidney channel.
