GV-16 - Palace of Wind
风府 - Fēng fǔ
Point Region: Head (back)
GV-16, or 'Fengfu' (meaning 'Wind Mansion'), is a vital point located on the back of the neck, just below the skull. Its name refers to its function as a 'mansion' or a residence for 'wind'—a key pathogen in Chinese medicine that can cause a variety of ailments, from a cold and flu to a stiff neck and headache.
As a local point, Fengfu is primarily used for issues related to the head and neck, such as a stiff neck, headache, and a sense of 'stuckness' in the throat. It is a go-to point for 'clearing wind' and 'regulating' the flow of energy in the head and neck. By stimulating this point, you can help to restore a sense of balance and harmony to the entire body.
Fengfu acts as a vital access point to the core of the body, providing a direct and effective way to address blockages and restore a sense of comfort and vitality to the upper body. It's a reminder of the power of local points to provide targeted relief and restore a sense of comfort and vitality to the entire body.
