Meridian Pathway & Flow

Direction

The Triple Energizer Meridian ascends from the hand to the head, flowing from Yang toward Yin

Pathway

  • Origin: Begins at TE-1 (Guanchong) on the ulnar corner of the ring fingernail
  • Hand Path: Travels along the dorsal aspect of the hand between the ring and pinky fingers
  • Forearm Path: Ascends along the posterior-lateral aspect of the forearm
  • Upper Arm Path: Continues up the posterior aspect of the upper arm and shoulder
  • Neck Path: Travels behind the ear and around to the temple region
  • Head Path: Moves across the temporal region and around the ear
  • End Point: Terminates at TE-23 (Sizhukong) at the lateral end of the eyebrow
  • Connection: Links to the Gallbladder meridian at GB-1 (Tongziliao) at the outer corner of the eye

Active Time

9:00 PM - 11:00 PM (Peak energy circulation)

TE Protocols

Three Burner Coordination (12-15 minutes)

  1. Begin at 9-11 PM (peak TE time) or when feeling systemically imbalanced
  2. Start with TE-1 (Guanchong) for overall activation
  3. Work TE-5 (Waiguan) for opening and circulation
  4. Apply pressure to TE-6 (Zhigou) for middle burner regulation
  5. Focus on TE-14 (Jianliao) for shoulder and upper burner
  6. End with TE-21 (Ermen) for ear and sensory integration

Lymphatic Drainage Support (10-12 minutes)

  1. For fluid retention, swelling, or lymphatic congestion
  2. Focus on TE-4 (Yangchi) for fluid circulation
  3. Work TE-5 systematically for opening pathways
  4. Apply light, rhythmic pressure to TE-14 and shoulder area
  5. Include gentle neck and arm movements while holding points

Temperature Regulation (8-10 minutes)

  1. For hot flashes, excessive sweating, or temperature imbalance
  2. Start with TE-5 for overall regulation
  3. Work TE-6 for middle burner cooling
  4. Apply pressure to TE-17 (Yifeng) for ear and head regulation
  5. Coordinate with cooling breath work

Shoulder and Arm Relief (8-12 minutes)

  1. For shoulder pain, arm tension, or repetitive strain
  2. Focus on TE-14 (Jianliao) with sustained pressure
  3. Work TE-5 for arm circulation and pain relief
  4. Apply pressure to TE-10 (Tianjing) at elbow
  5. Include gentle arm and shoulder movements

Ear and Hearing Support (5-8 minutes)

  1. For hearing issues, tinnitus, or ear problems
  2. Focus on TE-17 (Yifeng) and TE-21 (Ermen) with very gentle pressure
  3. Work TE-5 for opening meridian pathways to ears
  4. Apply light massage around ear area
  5. Avoid applying pressure inside the ear canal

Immune System Support (10-15 minutes)

  1. For chronic infections, low immunity, or autoimmune issues
  2. Begin with TE-1 for gentle activation
  3. Work systematically through TE-4, TE-5, TE-6 for fluid regulation
  4. Focus on TE-14 for upper body immunity
  5. End with intention of balanced immune response

Considerations

Autumn Focus

  • The Triple Energizer is especially active in autumn—an ideal time to support adaptation during seasonal transitions
  • Support adaptation to changing weather and environmental conditions

Hydration

  • Maintain proper hydration for optimal fluid metabolism
  • Quality water important - avoid excessive cold drinks
  • Monitor fluid balance especially during hormonal changes

Environmental Adaptation

  • Honor 9-11 PM time with winding down and temperature regulation
  • Dress appropriately for weather changes
  • Create stable, comfortable living and working environments

Stress Management

  • Multiple stressors can overwhelm triple energizer function
  • Practice simplification and prioritization
  • Regular relaxation to support system coordination

Social Health

  • Cultivate supportive group relationships
  • Practice healthy communication and cooperation
  • Balance social interaction with solitude

Sleep Hygiene

  • Good sleep supports hormonal and metabolic regulation
  • Keep bedroom temperature comfortable
  • Avoid stimulating activities during 9-11 PM peak time

Precautions

Pressure

  • Use light to moderate pressure, as the Triple Energizer responds best to gentle regulation
  • Ear points (TE-17, TE-21) require very gentle touch
  • TE-5 is commonly used and can handle sustained pressure

Systemic Sensitivity

  • Triple energizer work affects multiple systems simultaneously
  • Start gently and monitor overall responses
  • May trigger mild detox responses or temporary system adjustments

Autoimmune Conditions

  • Work very gently with autoimmune disorders
  • Monitor for flare-ups or increased inflammation
  • Coordinate with healthcare providers for complex conditions

Hormonal Issues

  • Thyroid and endocrine disorders require medical supervision
  • Monitor for changes in hormone medication effectiveness
  • Be aware of interactions during hormonal transitions

Ear Safety

  • Never insert anything into ear canal
  • Stop if experiencing increased tinnitus or dizziness
  • Consult healthcare providers for persistent ear problems

Lymphatic Work

  • Lymphatic drainage should move toward heart
  • Cancer patients should obtain oncologist approval before lymphatic work
  • Avoid aggressive pressure on swollen lymph nodes

Temperature Regulation

  • Those with temperature dysregulation may be extra sensitive
  • Monitor for excessive heating or cooling responses
  • Adjust environment temperature during treatment

Pregnancy

  • Most TE points safe during pregnancy with gentle pressure
  • Avoid strong stimulation of points that might affect fluid balance
  • Monitor for changes in swelling or blood pressure

Chronic Conditions

  • Diabetes and metabolic disorders require medical coordination
  • Chronic fatigue patients may need very gentle approach
  • Autoimmune conditions require careful monitoring
