LI-14 - Upper Arm
臂臑 - Bì nào
Point Region: Upper arm
LI-14, or 'Binao' (meaning 'Upper Arm'), is a local point on the upper arm. Its name refers to its position on the biceps muscle, where it can address a wide range of muscular and circulatory issues.
While primarily a local point for the upper arm and shoulder, Binao is also known for its ability to benefit the eyes. It is often used for eye problems such as redness, swelling, and pain, as the Large Intestine channel connects to the face and eyes. This makes it a great point for 'dispersing wind' and 'clearing heat' that can cause these symptoms.
The dual function of this point—addressing both the local arm and distant eye issues—highlights the interconnectedness of the meridians. By stimulating this point, you can address not only physical tension in the arm but also a wide range of symptoms that may seem unrelated, showcasing the holistic nature of acupressure.
