LI-12 - Elbow Crevice
肘髎 - Zhǒu liáo
Point Region: Upper arm
LI-12, or 'Zhouliao' (meaning 'Elbow Bone Hole'), is a local point located near the elbow joint. Its name refers to its position in the 'hole' or depression of the elbow bone.
As a local point, Zhouliao is primarily used for disorders of the elbow and arm. It's an essential point for treating pain, swelling, and stiffness in the elbow joint, making it a valuable tool for conditions like 'tennis elbow' or 'golfer's elbow'. By stimulating this point, you can improve circulation and reduce inflammation directly at the source of the problem.
This point serves as a key access point to the joint, allowing for the direct treatment of localized issues. It's a reminder that sometimes the most effective solutions are found right at the point of pain, where a targeted approach can provide significant relief and restore function.
