HT-9 - Lesser Surge
少冲 - Shào chōng
Point Region: Hand
HT-9, or 'Shaochong' (meaning 'Lesser Surge'), is the 'Jing-Well' and 'Wood' point of the Heart channel. Located at the tip of the pinky finger, its name refers to its position as a 'lesser surge' where the energy of the Heart meridian begins its journey.
As a 'Jing-Well' point, Shaochong is a go-to point for 'restoring consciousness' and 'opening the orifices of the Heart.' It is particularly effective for fainting, coma, and other states of unconsciousness. It can also be used to address a sense of 'stuckness' or 'blockage' in the heart, as it helps to 'unclog' the channels and restore a sense of flow and ease.
Shaochong acts as a vital access point to the heart and the mind, providing a direct and effective way to address blockages and restore a sense of balance and harmony. It's a reminder of the power of local points to provide targeted relief and restore a sense of comfort and vitality to the upper body.
